Do you love to run but get frustrated when your body can’t ‘back it up’ the next day?  Do you complain in gym class that you still haven’t recovered from the last one?

Chances are you’re not giving yourself enough rest and recovery – and that includes getting some ZZZs.

If you’re not giving your body enough time to recover between workouts, not only will this impact your fitness goals, it’s probably taking some of the enjoyment out of your activities as well. The good news is that fixing it could be as simple as changing your workout schedule to better match your sleep routine.

Peta Carige, Australia’s leading Sports Dietician, talked recently to BODY & SOUL Magazine about maximising workouts through effective recovery – specifically by looking at your sleep patterns. Giving your body the right fuel is essential, but so too is giving it the right recovery.
